Prevent Mass Closing of Abortion Clinics

Target: Anthony Kennedy, U.S. Supreme Court Justice

Goal: Prevent the closure of over thirty abortion clinics threatened by excessively restrictive laws.

Over thirty abortion clinics will close if a proposed law that prevents doctors from performing abortions in a non-hospital setting is allowed to stand. Urge the Supreme Court to vote against this law and stand up for women’s rights.

The law would force clinics to upgrade their facilities to hospital-level standards, even though the majority of abortions do not require hospital-level care. Doctors would not be allowed to perform abortions in any clinic that does not match these extreme requirements. Statistics suggest that over 900,000 women live further than 150 miles from the remaining abortion clinics. This limits the options for many women and may prevent them from exercising their right to choose.

Currently, only half of the previously available abortion clinics are operational under Texas law. If this law is allowed to stand, only ten clinics will remain in all of Texas. Sign below to protect a woman’s right to choose.

Dear Justice Kennedy,

Over half of all Texas abortion clinics have been shut down due to an outrageous law. This severely limits the options for over 900,000 women. We urge you to vote against this law and support a woman’s right to choose.

Per Texas law, all abortion clinics must adhere to hospital-level standards. While we understand the importance of standards in healthcare, most abortions do not require hospital-level treatment. The law would only prevent women from accessing safe and affordable abortions.

We urge you to vote against this law and support a woman’s right to choose.

  1. Abortion is wrong!
Use protection and common sense and you wouldn’t end up pregnant.
    Abortion is NOT birth control.
There is birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancy, use it!

Only case where I think abortion’s should be allowed is for rape victims who end up pregnant due to their assault.

Oh whine more, Captain Ignorance…. Those clinics offer B.C. and (through low-income health offerings)save lives – like mine! I’d be DEAD if wasn’t for their help with my fibroids, and frankly YES! – I DO believe a young woman’s LIFE is more important than a fertilized egg! (‘Late term’ abortion is used for serious medical issues on the part of the mother or fetus – It’s NOT used as ‘casual birth control!)
My Advice?…..Crack a science book, fer crissakes! There’s NO excuse for being ignorant!

  2. Pushing women into back alleys, and unsanitary kitchens, bathroom, and basements is WRONG! All abortions are NOT CAUSED by lack of concern of pregnancy. Pregnancy can be caused by RAPE, INCEST, or malfunctioning condoms and other methods of birth control. The percentage of women that actually want to KILL THEIR UNBORN CHILDREN is probably under 5% of all abortions. And Planned Parenthood’s abortions are only ONE PERCENT of the medical help that they offer to the indigent and poor women on this country! WAKE UP!! Abortion is between a woman and HER GOD, not that of the SUPREME COURT or the GENERAL POPULATION!
