Target: Bruce Colton, State Attorney
Goal: Extend investigation into Aaron Hill attack to prosecute all who were involved.
Aaron Hill is an autistic teenager who was allegedly invited to a house party by a girl who planned on setting up a physical attack on him. Aaron had been at the party for some time when someone called another student to come in and beat him up while someone else recorded the horrific scene. The student has since been charged and is serving a prison sentence. The owner of the home, Evadean Dailey, has also been charged in connection with the beating.
Although the main aggressor was charged, there remain others who were reportedly involved in this attack. For example, the person who invited Hill to the party, the person who filmed the beating, and the person(s) that can be seen and heard standing around and watching. These individuals are just as guilty as the aggressor and should be treated as such.
Aaron Hill had to be taken out of school since being scarred by the horrific incident. It is not fair that he suffered at the hands of many but only a few are held accountable. Please sign this petition urging the state attorney to extend the investigation, obtain custody of the other offenders and charge them accordingly.
Dear Mr. Colton,
I am writing this letter to you in a state of sadness and disappointment. As you know, there was an autistic Florida teen who was attacked by an adult male at a house party in Okeechobee. The main aggressor as well as the adult hosting the party were subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the beating, but the other accomplices in this crime were not charged.
It can be seen clearly in the video of the beating that many other people were watching the attack and one person also recorded it. These people must also be charged for their roles in this horrific incident, as they are just as guilty of the crime as the aggressor and host for not stopping it.
Aaron Hill may never be the same after this disgusting and intentional abuse of power. Autistic people should never have to worry about their peers taking advantage of their disability in order to harm them. Please extend the investigation of this crime and pursue the other individuals involved, so that they are deterred from allowing or participating in other attacks.
