Target: Annemarie Erika Bonkalo, Ontario Court of Justice Chief of Justice
Goal: Deny application asking to kill pit bulls seized from alleged dog fighting ring.
Twenty-one pit bulls may be facing the possibility of a death sentence after they were seized from an alleged dog fighting ring. The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) submitted the application to have the dogs “destroyed.” A lawyer on this case stated that nothing has been proven in court, so it’s senseless to murder the animals based on pure allegations.
These innocent animals didn’t choose to be part of an alleged fight ring so they shouldn’t be given the death sentence. The scarred dogs, awaiting their fate in kennels, have gone through enough suffering. They deserve a chance to have a good life, and there are plenty of capable people happy to accept and properly care for dogs like these. Please sign this petition and demand that these innocent lives be spared and placed with appropriate, good homes.
Dear Chief Justice Bonkalo,
Twenty-one pit bulls were seized from an alleged dog fighting ring, and now they may face a death sentence. The OSPCA has submitted an application to a court to have these innocent animals “destroyed” like they’re disposable objects and not living beings.
Even if the fighting allegations are true, there are capable, willing people who these dogs could be placed with, so it would be a tragedy to end so many lives before even trying to find them homes. We ask that you take these innocent lives into consideration and make the decision to deny the OSPCA’s request to “destroy” them.
