Seek Maximum Punishment For Alleged Dog Hoarder

Target: Bill Montgomery, Maricopa County District Attorney

Goal: Punish accused animal hoarder to the fullest extent of the law.

An Arizona woman was recently charged with 26 counts of animal abuse and two counts of child abuse after police reportedly discovered a dangerously unsanitary home environment. The police were originally called to the home for a complaint about barking dogs, but what they discovered there was far worse.

Upon entering the home, officers allegedly found multiple dogs in every corner of the house, two young boys laying on a filthy couch, and a floor that was filled with feces, urine, blood, and mold. In the bedrooms of the home were dog cages instead of beds. It was noticeable that the dogs were not in good condition, with a few of them having bloody faces and emaciated bodies.

After searching the complete property police found more dogs in the backyard, as well as a few brand new dogs in a vehicle. This woman is obviously incapable of assuming a nurturer role and should have the pets removed from her care immediately, as well as receive a fitting punishment for her crimes.

Sign this petition to urge the district attorney to seek the maximum punishment against the woman for the pain and neglect that was inflicted on these dogs and that the woman be barred from pet ownership.

Dear Mr. Montgomery,

A woman was recently charged with 26 counts of animal abuse for allegedly hoarding and neglecting 26 dogs. Police officers found her home to be in a state of extreme uncleanliness not fit for residence, let alone the maintenance of the number of animals that were found there. Some dogs were discovered to have bloody faces and others were found to be malnourished with visible bones.

Not only were the dogs in a terrible state, but the floor was completely covered with fresh and dried feces, urine, blood and mold. This is no condition for any animal, let alone human, to live in. This woman should never have been in possession of such an insurmountable amount of pets. Surprisingly, she was part of an animal rescue group that apparently failed in monitoring the success of their rescue animals.

Please ensure that this woman receives the maximum penalty for the crimes she committed and receives a ban on pet ownership so that she will be deterred from doing such a thing ever again.

MOST true animal hoarders are mentally ill….they start out meaning well: they are trying to SAVE homeless animals…then they get in over their head and can no longer afford to feed and care for the animals….but still can’t let them go….

I don’t know the entire story with this individual, but chances are he/ she is a typical animal hoarder who let it get out of control….I’m not saying to give him a pass, clearly, he should not be allowed to own more than say 1-2 animals in the future: hoarding HURTS the animals. BUT, neither should he/ she be imprisoned or fined heavily….mental health help should be available for this person.
