Target: Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor of Abia State
Goal: Ensure maximum punishment for officers who allegedly molested an army captain.
A divisional police officer (DPO) in charge of a post allegedly ordered his officers to molest an army captain who’d parked his bus close to the police station, which angered the officer who claimed the bus was in the way. The army captain reportedly agreed to repack his truck, but instead of allowing him to do so and go on about his business, the officer allegedly harassed him, demanding he answer why he blocked the officer’s way. He reportedly began pleading with the DPO to allow him to re-park the vehicle, but despite identifying himself as an army captain, the DPO allegedly refused and ordered his men to arrest the captain and “drag him into the cell” where he was then molested. Four soldiers reportedly arrived during the molestation and ended the abuse alleged to have been committed against the captain.
Outlets haven’t released any information regarding what penalties, if any, these officers face. Police officers, of all people, should be the last to commit such a disgusting, violent crime against a fellow human being. These men are supposed to serve and protect and uphold the law, not terrorize people and break laws. This innocent army captain deserves justice. Sign this petition to demand that the officer and his men who abused the army captain are sentenced to the maximum punishment possible, if they’re guilty of the allegations.
Dear Governor Okezie Ikpeazu,
An army captain was allegedly molested by a divisional police officer and his men after they accused him of parking his bus too close to the police station. After a reported verbal altercation where the DPO was extremely rude, he allegedly ordered his men to arrest and drag the captain into a cell where he was molested until four soldiers arrived to find the incident occurring.
Men who commit such crimes should have no place in the police department. Please take this deplorable crime seriously and set and help ensure that this abuse never occurs again. We demand that these officers be given the maximum penalty possible and stripped of their badges, if guilty.
