Target: Attorney General of Pennsylvania, Kathleen Kane
Goal: Punish man to the fullest extent of the law for allegedly raping a woman on Valentine’s Day and stabbing her cousin in the chest multiple times.
A man reportedly kicked in the door to his former girlfriend’s home, raped her, and stabbed her cousin in the chest multiple times, all on Valentine’s Day. The woman’s cousin remains in the hospital in serious condition, but is stable. The suspect, William Brown, is now spending time at the Chester County Prison with his bail set to $500,000.
Reports say that two days before this incident a temporary protection from abuse order was granted against Brown after he allegedly threatened both his life and one of the victims’ with a butcher’s knife. After this, the locks on the house were changed and the woman’s cousin stayed overnight to help protect her.
On the morning of Valentine’s Day, when Brown came by and found himself locked out, he reportedly kicked the door in and stabbed the woman’s cousin in the chest with a butcher’s knife. He then allegedly choked the woman he had been involved with until she almost passed out. While Brown continued to assault her cousin, she was able to dial 911 and hide her cell phone, leaving the line open for police to track it and find her. He then allegedly dragged her to the bedroom and raped her.
This behavior from Brown shows that he is not just a cruel man, but one who has clearly lost his ability to reason like a sane man. Due to his previous violence, forced entry, and the attack on the two women, all signs would have pointed to him. However, he did not consider these things when he reportedly assaulted the women. Help ensure he stays behind bars for a long time by signing your name to the petition.
Dear Attorney General Kane,
A particularly recent case of violence against women made headlines in Pennsylvania. In this instance, a man allegedly threatened the life of himself and the woman he was involved with with a butcher’s knife. As a result, she was granted a temporary protection order against Brown and the locks were changed. However, two days later he reportedly returned to her home, kicked in the door, assaulted her and a relative, stabbed the relative multiple times, and raped her.
The woman was able to contact the police undetected and hide her cell phone while leaving the line open. When Pennsylvania state troopers arrived at the scene, they arrested the man on the spot. William Brown, the man accused of these heinous acts, is now spending time behind bars at Chester County Prison with his bail set to $500,000.
I commend the law enforcement team for all their efforts to protect the victim and for their speedy response when she was in danger and called for help. However, more needs to be done to ensure this kind of thing does not happen again. I urge you to ensure this man remains behind bars for as long as possible by pursuing the harshest punishment allowable by law for his crimes.
