Punish Sex Offender Charged with Human Trafficking of a Minor

Target: Director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Mark Gwyn

Goal: Punish sex offender to the fullest extent of the law for alleged human trafficking, promoting prostitution and for criminal impersonation.

A tip from the non-profit organization, Second Life Chattanooga, led to the rescuing of a 17-year-old girl from the clutches of a sex offender. Acting on the information provided, Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and the Chattanooga Police Department worked together to rescue the girl and make the arrest.

An undercover officer reportedly contacted the girl after finding a number listed on a Backpage.com ad and then presented himself as a customer of prostitution. When the officer found the girl in the hotel room, he removed her from the scene and put her into protective custody with the Department of Children’s Services.

Law enforcement says that further investigation showed the girl was allegedly held captive by Hector Velasquez, a sex offender on the run from Florida with multiple warrants for his arrest. He allegedly “supervised” the girl’s activities, and the two shared a hotel room, which was allegedly paid for by the commercial sexual activities that the young girl had been forced into. Velasquez now faces several more charges, including, criminal impersonation, promoting prostitution and human trafficking.

Dear Director Gwyn,

Due to hard work, dedication, and cooperation with a non-profit organization, your Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations were able to rescue a 17-year-old from alleged involuntary prostitution. The man who reportedly held her captive, Hector Velasquez, has been identified as a sex offender on the run from Florida with several warrants out for his arrest. He is now facing new charges, including promotion of prostitution and human trafficking.

Officers were able to contact the girl in question via an online ad where they set up an appointment for commercial sexual activities. However, on arrival, the undercover officer in charge put the girl into protective custody. Further investigation showed that Velasquez allegedly oversaw all activities, shared the hotel room with the girl, and that the room was allegedly paid for by money earned from her forced prostitution.

These instances of blatant disregard for the law and basic human freedoms need to be addressed and taken seriously. Please show your stance on human trafficking and prostitution by making an example of Velasquez. I urge you to ensure he gets the heaviest sentence possible for his alleged crimes to deter others from following his lead.

  1. Lynn Juozilaitis says:

This POS should be skinned alive! I would love to see that on YouTube! Anyone who holds a human being captive, harms a human being or an animal, abuses, tortures, murders, especially doing these atrocities to a child, is a subhuman piece of garbage

  2. Why don’t they place this sex-offender behind bars for a long time. Or alternatively… penaltransport him to a different place,–where human trafficking is illegal at all costs for a long time, for example; 40 years.
