Target: Ken Paxton, Attorney General of Texas
Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for those charged with allegedly setting a child on fire.
A 4-year-old girl was allegedly strapped to a chair and set on fire in a heinous case of child abuse. Her aunt and cousin have now been charged in the case and are awaiting their hearing. Demand that those responsible receive the maximum penalty for this horrifying act of torture.
The girl, whose name has been withheld to maintain her privacy, made statements to police about the incident. She reportedly stated that she was staying in a hotel room in Texas with her aunt, cousin, and other children. She was then allegedly “strapped into a car seat by her aunt Ronnie because she was being bad.” Then, her cousin allegedly held a lighter up to her bare skin and set her ablaze. The girl reportedly received burns over thirty percent of her body. She allegedly was not taken to a hospital until the next day.
Those responsible must be punished for this monstrous act. Sign below to demand the maximum penalty allowed by law for this girl’s aunt and cousin, if guilty.
Dear Attorney General Paxton,
A 4-year-old girl sustained severe burns after she was reportedly set on fire. Nearly a year later, charges have been filed against her aunt and cousin.
Veronica Deneen Harris and Christen Deuante Rogers allegedly strapped the girl to her car seat in only a diaper and set her on fire. The girl reportedly suffered burns over thirty percent of her body and did not receive medical attention until the next day.
The torture and abuse of a 4-year-old girl cannot be tolerated. We demand that those allegedly responsible for this heinous act receive the maximum penalty by law, if found guilty.
