Target: Chief Christopher Heberer, Fountain, Colorado Police Department
Goal: Thank police for rescuing abandoned dogs and laying harsh charges against their owner.
A woman has been charged with seven counts of aggravated animal cruelty after allegedly leaving her pets do die in her old home after she moved away. After a concerned neighbor reported broken windows and barking dogs at a nearby home, authorities arrived to find a horrific scene with dead and starving animals. The home had been abandoned for months, and the animals left alive were suffering without water or heat.
After obtaining a warrant, police entered the home to find filthy floors caked with urine and feces. Three dead and rotting turtles were reportedly found in the home, alongside four pit bulls. Three of the dogs were severely emaciated, suggesting that they had been left without food for a long period of time.
Authorities discovered that the home had been abandoned three months before the dogs were found. They were left without any access to the outdoors and would have died had officials not found them when they did. The dogs were removed by the Humane Society, which was already investigating previous animal cruelty claims against Crystal McIntosh, the homeowner.
Fortunately, thanks to the work of police and Humane Society staff, the dogs are expected to recover. In order to ensure that McIntosh does not have the chance to abandon animals in the future, it is imperative that she is punished and banned from owning animals. Sign the petition below to praise police for rescuing these dogs and working to bring their abuser to justice.
Dear Chief Heberer,
Crystal McIntosh of Fountain, Colorado is facing seven charges of aggravated animal cruelty after abandoning seven pets in her old home. She reportedly left three turtles and four pit bulls in the home for almost three months after she moved away. When police entered the home, the turtles were found dead and the dogs severely emaciated. They were left without food, water, electricity for heat, and access to the outdoors.
Had officials not arrived when they did, it is likely that the dogs would have died of starvation or dehydration. McIntosh’s callous abandonment of her pets shows a shocking disregard for their well-being. We, the undersigned, praise your work to rescue these animals and ensure that their abuser is brought to justice.
