Target: President of Interpol, Mireille Balestrazzi
Goal: Remove a dangerous man who attempted to organize pro-rape meetings across the world from the streets.
A blogger named Daryush Valizadeh, better known as Roosh V, reportedly tried to organize pro-rape meetings across the world. His website, “Return of Kings,” displayed a list of the countries and where the meetings were to be held. There were expected to be 165 events in 43 different countries. Attendees were expected to use a special phrase to identify other attendees at these clandestine events; the men were instructed to ask, “Do you know where I can find a pet shop?” and members are to respond, “Yes, it’s right here.”
Police departments all across the United States issued safety alerts in areas that had allegedly been chosen for these pro-rape meetings. They asked young women and girls to stay indoors the day of the events, as the meetings may be a ruse to commit acts of rape. According to media outlets, the meetings have since been cancelled by the blogger after concerns for the “safety and privacy” of those who planned to attend. But Roosh V allegedly continues to advocate sexual abuse of women online.
Roosh V has written many posts advocating for the legalization of rape, stating that rape culture only exists because society is putting the blame on men and not women, and has even written how-to books for rape. He reportedly believes that if rape were legal, women would try harder to protect themselves. Sign the petition below to demand that Interpol arrest this man for seemingly urging men to go out and sexually assault women.
Dear Mrs. Balestrazzi,
A blogger by the name of Daryush Valizadeh, otherwise known as Roosh V, allegedly launched an “International Meet-up Day” for his supporters, where they would meet in various locations around the world. This man has written books vividly explaining, step by step, how to rape a woman and get away with it. He reportedly believes that rape should be legal if it happens inside a private institution because this will “teach” women to learn how to fight back rather than teach men not to rape.
This kind of thinking is disgusting and the fact that there are men supporting him is atrocious. Though the meetings have supposedly been cancelled, many police departments in the United States have issued safety alerts in areas that were chosen for the meetings, asking women to stay indoors that night because the meetings might be a ruse to commit rape. I demand that you take measures to locate and arrest this dangerous man for urging sexual assault on women.
