Target: Robert B. Neller, Commandant U.S. Marine Corps
Goal: Take administrative action against Marine allegedly involved in fatal shooting of designated driver.
Sara Mutschlechner was trying to keep herself, her friends, and other drivers safe by acting as the designated driver for New Year’s Eve celebrations. While she was driving in Denton, Texas, several males in a black SUV pulled up along side her and exchanged words with her and her passengers.
The situation escalated as Sara tried to drive away. U.S. Marine Cpl. Eric Johnson, stationed out of Yuma, Ariz., allegedly fired two or three rounds into Sara’s vehicle, one of which hit her in the head. She lost control and slammed into a telephone pole. Responding officers found Sara lying on the ground with a bullet wound in her head. Although placed on life support, Sara died that evening.

Dear Commandant Neller,
Local police have arrested U.S. Marine Cpl. Eric Johnson, stationed out of Yuma, Ariz., for his alleged involvement in the shooting of a 20-year-old college student who was acting as designated driver on New Year’s Eve. As a member of the U.S. armed forces, Cpl. Johnson has a responsibility to represent the morals and values of the U.S.—allegedly taunting and shooting a girl out responsibly celebrating with friends does not do this.
We demand that Cpl. Johnson’s commanding officer and any other necessary personnel address this matter with him and take whatever administrative, or other, actions are necessary to appropriately punish Cpl. Johnson for his alleged involvement in his murder.
