Target: Floyd Mayweather, Professional Boxer
Goal: Tell Floyd Mayweather that tigers should not be kept as pets and to bring his tiger to a sanctuary.
Undefeated boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather, recently uploaded a picture to his Instagram of his new pet tiger. In the photo, one can see him sitting down while holding the leashed tiger. Mr. Mayweather was given the tiger as a pet and according to his post, he plans on keeping her.
Not only is keeping a tiger captive incredibly cruel, but Mr. Mayweather also has a long history of domestic violence. Animal companions require kindness and patience which seems to be virtues Mr. Mayweather is lacking.
Tigers in the wild can travel many miles in a day, which Mr. Mayweather’s tiger will be unable to do due to her confinements. Tigers are also nocturnal animals which makes it even more difficult to keep them in one’s house. There is also the obvious problem of living in a backyard rather than their natural environment, which is lush and large.
Sign this petition and tell Mr. Mayweather to bring his pet tiger to a sanctuary. A house is no place for a tiger. She deserves to roam free among other tigers where she will truly be happy.
Dear Mr. Mayweather,
Recently, you have received a tiger as a gift and you plan on keeping her. It is inherently cruel to keep a wild animal as a household pet.
Tigers in the wild can travel miles in just one day, which would be impossible for a tiger kept in a house. In addition, a human’s home and their backyard is nothing like the natural environment tigers thrive in. Their natural environments are lush, large and full of other animals.
Animal companions need a lot of kindness and patience when they are being trained, and a wild animal will require even more attention. Tigers are nocturnal animals, which is another reason for why they are not proper animal companions for humans.
Please consider bringing the tiger you received as a pet to an accredited sanctuary. At a sanctuary, she will be surrounded by tiger friends, live in an environment suitable for her needs and be happy and healthy. Please take the tiger’s needs, health, and feelings into consideration. A human’s home is no place for a tiger.
