Target: Knox County Schools Superintendent Jim McIntyre
Goal: Reprimand officer accused of sexism and discrimination in selecting a job applicant.
A man applied for the position of chief deputy position, but alleges that he was discriminated against and the job was instead given to a woman who’d also applied. In his complaint, the alleged victim states that the school security chief doing the hiring rewrote the position in favor of the woman applicant, using such a narrow set of requirements that very few could even meet. He also allegedly told other applicants not to apply as he’d already selected someone for the job. In addition, he is accused of telling several people beforehand who he intended to hire.
He also states that he allegedly received information that the chief wrote the job description specifically for one person. This is gender discrimination and the officer accused of this sexist behavior should be reprimanded. Please sign this petition to demand he be punished if found guilty of discrimination.
Dear Mr. McIntyre,
It has come to our attention that a man attempting to apply for the position of chief deputy has filed a complaint detailing the extreme sexism and discrimination he allegedly experienced at the hands of the school security chief doing the hiring. The alleged victim claims that the hiring officer reportedly stated to applicants not to bother applying because he’d already selected a choice before the hiring process was even finished. The person he allegedly intended to hire was a woman and he also allegedly said that if he wasn’t allowed to hire her, he wouldn’t hire anyone. The position remains unfilled.
This alleged blatant display of discrimination and sexism should not be tolerated under any circumstance and we’re disappointed that the accused officer was never reprimanded for this. We demand you to stop allowing this sexist behavior and reprimand the officer if guilty.
