Target: Colorado Republican Rep. JoAnn Windholz

Goal: Denounce Rep. JoAnn Windholz for blaming Planned Parenthood for the shooting that occurred at a Colorado Springs clinic, killing three and injuring nine others.

Colorado Republican Rep. JoAnn Windholz recently wrote a Facebook post blaming Planned Parenthood for the fatal shooting that occurred at one of its clinics in Colorado Springs.

Windholz called Planned Parenthood the true instigator of violence because the health organization provides abortions as one of its services. She wrote that “violence begets violence,” as if the shooter was justified in his actions. She essentially supported this act of domestic terrorism against an organization that is operating completely legally.

She finished her post asking everyone to pray for women who get abortions and doctors who perform abortions, because in her opinion these are the people who need prayer rather than the victims who were killed by a religious psychopath and was motivated by the hateful and lying rhetoric of Republican lawmakers like Windholz.

The shooting is a major tragedy and people died because of the dangerous lies Republicans continue to spew to the American people. Denounce Colorado Republican Rep. JoAnn Windholz for her disgusting comments amid this tragedy.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Rep. JoAnn Windholz,

Your Facebook comments regarding the recent shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs show a deep misconception of this tragedy. I demand that you immediately issue an apology for your comments that essentially supported an act of domestic terrorism against an organization that provides vital health services to American women and is operating completely legally.

How dare you attempt to justify the violence that killed three and nearly killed nine more? It is your dangerous rhetoric that inspires extremists to resort to violence as a means of action against the messages you spread. It is not Planned Parenthood’s fault that this tragedy occurred—it is the fault of lawmakers like you who continue to spew misinformation and hate in order to divide the American people and distract them from real issues.

Your comments on Facebook were despicable and I demand that you apologize to the American public.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
