Target: President Barack Obama
Goal: End the U.S. Air Force drone air strike program.
U.S. Air Force service members have come forth and criticized President Barack Obama over the drone war. Stephen Lewis, a former Air Force sensor operator, and Cian Westmoreland, a former Air Force technician, have called for an end to U.S. drone warfare. During an interview with Democracy Now, the men say the “killings and remote-control bombings fuel the very terrorism” the U.S. claims it is fighting.
The men reportedly confirmed innocent people were killed and maimed by the attacks, and in one instance, Lewis was allegedly cleared to fire a second missile on one unarmed, injured man. The Air Force veterans state the air strikes incite the same fear in civilians that terrorism does. Demand President Obama put an end to U.S. terrorism overseas. In our war against terror, we cannot commit acts of terrorism as well.
Dear President Obama,
Please end the United States’ controversial and ineffective drone war program. Former United States service members have confirmed our very fears: U.S. drone air strikes are killing innocent civilians alongside those who pose a potential terrorist threat to the U.S. and abroad. You must stop this assassination program. Simply put, it makes the United States as much of a terrorist as the terrorists we are fighting.
In numerous accounts, it has allegedly been proven that a U.S. drone has killed innocent people and destroyed their surroundings rather than its target, and now, people live in fear of our country. The United States of America is not a terrorist. Saying the drone program isn’t terrorism does not make it so. Stop U.S. drone air strikes on foreign soil immediately.
