Target: Ben Carson
Goal: Criticize Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson for his offensive comments likening Syrian refugees to rabid dogs.
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson recently compared concerns about Syrian refugees in the U.S. to a parent’s concerns about rabid dogs around her children. Carson said if there’s a rabid dog running around, you’re not going to assume something good about the dog. He said we must have a system that allows us to determine which Syrian refugees are mad dogs.
He said at the same time that he would call the humane society to take the rabid dogs away in order to create a safe environment. Carson is no stranger to making offensive and insensitive comments, with some of his thoughts being compared to those of the Nazis, who he seems to be a huge fan of talking about.
Someone who is going to compare innocent humans to rabid dogs does not deserve a place in office. We need to treat these people in need with compassion, not hate. Criticize Carson’s hateful and offensive rhetoric against innocent Syrian refugees.
Dear Mr. Carson,
It’s embarrassing that you’re a contender for president who seems to completely lack tact and compassion. You recently compared innocent Syrian refugees fleeing violence in their home country to rabid dogs. These people are not bad, and to dehumanize them and spread hate is to do exactly what the terrorists want you to do.
You don’t deserve a place in office and these comments cement the fact that you are ill-equipped to handle such responsibility. Stop spreading ignorance and hate.
