Target: Lieutenant General Jeffrey W. Talley, Chief of the Army Reserve
Goal: Increase the security and surveillance at army reserve locations to prevent further theft or intruding.
Authorities are still searching for the man that broke into the Worcester, Massachusetts Army Reserve center and stole 16 weapons that remain to be missing. The break-in and theft occurred sometime during the night, according to Worcester’s city manager, and it is still unclear whether the weapons or suspected thief will ever be found.
The stolen weapons were entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database and the Reserve has alerted their federal, state, and local law enforcement partners in an effort towards their recovery. While there is no indication that the theft is related to terrorist activity, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has stated that they are making every effort to recover the weapons. The Worcester Police Department has increased its police presence in several locations throughout the town as a safety precaution until these dangerous weapons are retrieved and their suspected thief is apprehended.
However, there is no way to ensure that this same theft will not happen again. Tell the Chief of the Army Reserve that reserves should have stricter security and surveillance measures on all of their reserve locations in order to ensure the protection of our ammunition against crime and terrorism.
Dear Lieutenant General Talley,
Alarming news has spread of a recent break-in and theft from an Army Reserve location in Worcester, Massachusetts. A man broke in during the night and stole 16 weapons from the reserve’s inventory and neither the weapons nor the thief have been found. While the FBI has stated that there is no indication of the theft and break-in being related to terrorist activity, they are still doing everything in their power to find the thief and retrieve the stolen weapons.
As a safety precaution, the Worcester Police Department has increased police presence throughout the town since the incident. However, this does not protect against further attempts of theft or intrusion on Worcester’s Army Reserve. The only way that this incident can be prevented from happening again is by increasing the security and surveillance on Army Reserves. Please increase the surveillance and security at all national Army Reserve locations to ensure the protection of our country’s ammunition against criminals and terrorism.
