Criticize Country Singer Jason Aldean for Wearing Blackface on Halloween

Target: Jason Aldean

Goal: Apologize for wearing racist blackface on Halloween while dressed as rapper Lil’ Wayne.

Country star Jason Aldean was seen in photos wearing racist blackface makeup and fake dreadlocks while dressed as rapper Lil’ Wayne for Halloween. The photo first surfaced on Nashville Gab before spreading around, and Aldean’s rep has now confirmed it is indeed Aldean in the photo.

In the same photo, Aldean’s wife appears to be dressed as some kind of Hispanic gangster, using yet another ignorant and racist Halloween costume idea. Celebrities time and time again don’t seem to learn the racist history behind blackface, despite multiple celebs being smeared in media every year for committing this social injustice.

Blackface is when white Americans put on black or brown face paint and act out incredibly racist and offensive stereotypes about black people. For people to still carry out this act today is incredibly insensitive and racist.

Aldean has not yet issued any sort of apology for his racist costume. Demand he apologize and take responsibility for his wrongful actions.

Dear Mr. Aldean,

You wore a costume with blackface on Halloween. In case you’ve forgotten, blackface is incredibly wrong and racist because it represents a time when white people in America would wear black or brown face paint in order to act out horrific, racist jokes about black people.

Celebrities get in trouble for this every year, so it seems impossible that you didn’t know how wrong it was to wear blackface. Its history is taught in schools and the information about blackface is all over the internet.

I demand you apologize for wearing blackface and a racist costume for Halloween.
