Target: Tuscaloosa police Chief Steve Anderson
Goal: Fire police officers for allegedly dragging three students out of their own home and using a stun gun and police baton to hurt them.
It was an innocent post game party for a few college students that ended in disaster. Police were called to a University of Alabama apartment complex for a noise complaint, yet upon arrival reportedly illegally entered the students home and pulled them out and proceeded to shoot one of them with a stun gun and beat the others with a police baton. One of the students was a young female who police allegedly dragged out of the apartment while she was screaming for help.
These students were innocently celebrating a win for their college team. A noise complaint does not warrant extreme police violence, and certainly does not warrant being dragged from your own home and beaten. Sign this petition and demand the Tuscaloosa police fire these officers to ensure these vicious attacks do not happen again.
Dear Chief Anderson,
I am writing you today because I am deeply disturbed at the alleged actions of two of your police officers after they were called to a University of Alabama apartment complex for a noise complaint. The officers reportedly illegally entered the students home and dragged them out on the floor, ignoring their screams. The officers then reportedly proceeded to use a stun gun on the students and beat them with a police baton.
If this is the first instance caught on camera, who knows how many other times this has happened without documentation? I urge you to fire these officers and send a message that police brutality is not to be tolerated among your officers.
