Target: Abdullah Ensour, Prime Minister
Goal: Cooperate with U.S. investigation into shooting deaths of two American contractors at Amman police training center.
President Barack Obama has announced that the U.S. is conducting a thorough investigation into the alleged shooting of two American contractors at an Amman police training center in Jordan. The Americans were contractors of the military firm DynCorp, and they were allegedly shot and killed by a Jordanian police officer alongside two other Jordanians and one South African. Prior to taking a bullet, the police officer also appears to have wounded four other people onsite, two of which were American.
The incident occurred near Jordan’s capital Amman at a U.S.-funded training center. The training center houses a State Department program that trains Palestinian security forces. Obama said the U.S. is taking this incident very seriously. Stand in solidarity with our president and demand Jordan conduct a full investigation into the actions of this unsolicited and tragic shooting.
Dear Prime Minster Ensour,
It is with a heavy heart that I send this letter. It is my understanding that two American contractors were killed and two other Americans were wounded in an what appears to be a shooting at a police training center near Amman. It is also my understanding that the shooter was a Jordanian police officer.
Please conduct a thorough investigation into the actions of this officer and cooperate with the U.S. during its investigation into this incident. We are funding this center and training your officers for your protection and benefit, and it is tragic that some of our own have allegedly fallen at the hands of a Jordanian citizen.
