Target: Doug Morris, CEO of Sony Music
Goal: Terminate alleged sexual and physical abuser, Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottvald, as a producer for Sony Music.
Sony Music is under fire for recent issues with their signed artist Kesha and one of their producers, Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottvald. Kesha is pressing charges against the producer for his alleged physical and sexual abuse towards the young music artist. Kesha reports that the producer allegedly physically and sexually abused her and forced her into using drugs and alcohol at a young age. Kesha stated the producer allegedly threatened to ruin her career if she tried to speak up about his abuse to force her into silence.
Sony Music has refused to listen to Kesha’s complaints and repeatedly insists that the artist must continue to work with her alleged abuser. The label continues to employ the producer despite the lawsuit brought against him. Kesha is legally forced to continue her career alongside her claimed vicious abuser without any attention paid to her treatment or well being. Sign this petition and demand that Sony Music stop supporting this alleged abuser. Send a message both to the public and the music industry that abuse is not to be tolerated.
Dear Mr. Morris,
I am writing to you today because I am deeply disappointed with Sony Music’s reaction towards their artist Kesha speaking out about her alleged abuse towards one of your producers. Kesha has bravely spoken out about her alleged abuse, stating that her producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottvald has sexually abused her throughout her career and forced her into using drugs and alcohol at a young age. Sony Music has responded with no sympathy, forcing the artist to continue to work alongside her alleged abuser.
This reaction shows the carelessness Sony Music has for the treatment of their artists. If your company is ignoring serious allegations such as these ones, what else is being tolerated by Sony Music? I urge you to release Kesha from her obligations to work with this supposedly abusive man and send a message both to the public and the music industry that abuse in any form is not to be tolerated both personally and professionally.
