Target: Miami County, Peru Prosecutor Bruce Embrey
Goal: Help ensure maximum punishment for baggage handlers who allegedly stole from passengers.
While awaiting his flight, a passenger allegedly caught baggage handlers going through people’s suitcases and stealing luggage. The witness filmed them and posted it to Facebook. The victim was a passenger of LAN — a South American Airline that says the thieves were contracted to work for them and they have been identified. They also stated that they will be pressing charges.
A media outlet reported that the men have apologized, but an apology isn’t enough. They not only crossed the line by infringing on passengers’ privacy, but they stole from them. These despicable criminals shouldn’t ever be eligible to hold positions where they’re allowed to handle other people’s belongings.
The name of the company the criminals work for hasn’t been released, but it would be in the best interest of the public if they fired these two dishonest employees. There’s no telling how long the stealing had been going on before they were finally seen by this camera-wielding witness. Please urge the prosecuting attorney to protect the privacy of others and protect anyone else from being robbed by these criminals by helping to ensure that they receive the maximum penalty possible.
Dear Miami County, Peru Prosecutor Bruce Embrey,
Two baggage handlers were allegedly caught going through people’s belongings and stealing. A passenger witnessing the crime filmed it and uploaded the video to Facebook. They were reportedly detained and charges will be pressed, according to the airline whose passenger was a victim of this criminal activity.
Unfortunately, these two dishonest employees could end up with jobs that allow them to continue robbing innocent people if they are not stopped. That’s why we urge you to stand up against this invasion of privacy and thievery and help ensure they receive the maximum penalty.
