Target: New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman
Goal: Charge the couple that is already being charged with beating their sons with animal neglect after also allegedly neglecting multiple pets.
A New York couple that was charged with beating their two sons, with one son dying from the injuries, has also allegedly been found to have neglected animals living in their home. Bruce and Deborah Leonard’s home reportedly had numerous neglected animals in their garbage-filled home, including four dogs, three birds and several cats in and around their home. Animal rescuers said feces and urine were everywhere in the home.
Rescuers said a female dog and a macaw were reportedly running loose around the house with the cats, while a Rottweiler and a beagle were found locked away in cages in the basement. All of the animals were rescued and are now in foster care.
With the current charges pending against them and with these new reported discoveries of animal neglect, it seems apparent this couple is abusive to all who cross them. Urge officials to charge the couple not just with hurting their sons, but also with animal neglect charges, if found guilty.
Dear Attorney General Schneiderman,
Bruce and Deborah Leonard are currently being charged with beating their sons, one fatally, and were also allegedly found to have multiple neglected animals in their home. The home was reportedly filled with trash, urine and feces and had some animals running loose together while others were locked away in cages.
These people have horrific charges against them, and these animal neglect charges should not be forgotten. I urge you to charge the couple not just with hurting their sons, but additionally with animal neglect charges.
