Target: Buddy Caldwell, Louisiana Attorney General
Goal: Give women maximum sentence for allegedly starving animals and failing to get them needed medical care.
Over 40 animals were allegedly starved and kept in unsanitary conditions by two women. Activists need to take action to better ensure other animals will be safe from such grotesque abuse in the future.
Mother Terri Turner and daughter Frannie Charlene Fisher had already been warned several times that they needed to provide better treatment for their animals. However, it was later reported they did nothing to help the animals’ situation and that they even had been neglecting teenagers in their care who were also found to be living in savage conditions.
According to authorities, some of the animals they rescued needed medical care for skin infections and upper respiratory issues. One animal even had an untreated large abdominal tumor. It is further suspected that many of the dogs have heartworm disease or parasites. In fact, the situation the animals were in was allegedly so bad that they will not be able to get the proper medical help they need without generous donations from the public.
Urge the attorney general to recommend that these two women are given the maximum sentence if they are found guilty. Animals do not deserve to be neglected by the people who originally chose to be responsible for their care.
Dear Attorney General Caldwell,
Over 40 animals are now at risk of dying because they were allegedly under the care of neglectful owners for way too long. If these women are not given the severest legal punishment, they may soon be in the position to abuse other innocent animals.
It was reported that the women not only allowed several animals to starve and to go without much needed medical care but that they also allowed two teenagers to live at their house in filthy conditions.
Sadly, some of the animals may have to be euthanized, as many of them have serious skin infections and upper respiratory issues. One dog even has a large tumor that remained untreated and many dogs are thought to have either parasites or heartworm disease. Just as sad, most of these animals will not be able to get help without public donations.
It is for these reasons that I urge you to recommend that these women be given the maximum legal sentence if they are found guilty of such disgusting animal abuse. Animals do not deserve to suffer because their owners care less.
