Target: New York Police Commissioner William Bratton
Goal: Find attacker who allegedly threw Molotov cocktail at Jewish students and charge him with hate crime and attempted murder.
A man allegedly yelled “I hate you” to two 20-year-old Jewish students standing on a sidewalk before tossing a Molotov cocktail at them. The bomb exploded when it hit a bicycle and came so close that the men felt the heat.
A Jewish Leadership Council spokesman says it’s possible the attacker had seen these boys every Friday and prepared for the sick crime against them. This hate-fueled, planned attack is deserving of the most severe penalty possible, but one victim says the responding officer didn’t take a formal complaint, and basically said that since nobody was injured, it wasn’t that big a deal.
These lives are important and police should’ve already been doing everything possible to find the attacker. Please demand that authorities take the victims’ lives seriously and utilize all resources to find the attacker and charge him with a hate crime and attempted murder.
Dear New York Police Commissioner William Bratton,
Two young Jewish students were allegedly targeted by a man who yelled “I hate you,” then threw a Molotov cocktail at them. Although people could’ve been killed or injured, police who responded behaved as if they didn’t even care.
The attacker should be brought to justice as he’s a severe threat to society. These poor Jewish students were victims of a hate crime that could’ve killed them. To let this sickening attack go without punishment would be a tragedy. We urge you to find the attacker, then aim to charge him with a hate crime and attempted murder.
