Target: Bruce Colton, Florida State Attorney (19th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida)

Goal: Find and suggest person who allegedly slung kitten out car window while driving be legally penalized.

A person reportedly tossed a kitten inside a pillowcase out a car window while driving. Activists need to take action to better ensure this mean-spirited individual is caught so there will be less of a chance that more animals will suffer by his hands in the future.

A good citizen who reported seeing what happened was kind enough to pull over in order to access the situation. Upon finding the kitten, he immediately took it to the Treasure Coast Humane Society for treatment.

Unfortunately, police say that several people have dumped off animals in the same area within the last six months. In fact, police have helped more than 40 animals that were left for dead by such thoughtless individuals.

Because there have been so many repeat cases of this type of animal cruelty, it is especially important that whoever threw the cat out the window is caught and publicly prosecuted so that other individuals who try this nonsense will be aware of the potential consequences.

Urge officials to do everything in their power to find and prosecute whoever committed this heartless act. Many other animals will likely be safer as a result.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State Attorney Colton,

A cat was recently brought to the Treasure Coast Humane Society in Palm City, Florida after it was allegedly tossed out of a driving vehicle in a pillowcase. It is important that the investigation to find this person remain open and that the individual receive a harsh legal sentence if he is caught in order to better ensure that other animals will be safe in the future.

After seeing the object tossed out the window, a good citizen investigated the situation and found the animal. He immediately took it to the Humane Society to get medical help.

Disturbingly, police have investigated no less than seven cases where over 40 animals have been callously disregarded by the side of the road or in the nearby woods. Since there have been so many of these incidents, it is important that the person who is responsible for throwing the cat out the window is caught and publicly prosecuted in order to send a loud and clear message to others that such disgusting treatment of animals will not be tolerated.

I therefore urge you to suggest that this investigation remain open and to also recommend that if the person who did this is caught he receive a harsh sentence under the law for displaying this act of animal cruelty. When such abuse towards animals is displayed, it is important that all actions are taken to try and stop it.

Sincerely,
