Punish Person Who Shot Goose with Arrow

Target: Julie Bank, Animal Welfare Superintendent

Goal: Find and legally penalize person who shot goose in chest with an arrow and left it to suffer.

A goose was found running around with a 30-inch arrow inside of it. Activists need to take action to ensure that whoever did this is legally punished for committing such a senseless and heartless act.

The arrow—unfortunately—was stuck in the animal’s chest. Luckily, the goose was only wounded from the horrible incident. Yet it was said to be “in a bunch of pain” by Oklahoma City Animal Welfare officials.

Whether or not the person who shot the goose had a permit to do so should be irrelevant, as the superintendent of Oklahoma City Animal Welfare pointed out that leaving an animal to suffer like this, regardless of circumstances, is not acceptable. At the very least, the person who shot the goose could have made an anonymous phone call to authorities to notify them about the animal’s state.

Sign this petition and urge officials to keep this investigation ongoing and to suggest that the person who is found to be responsible for leaving this animal to die be penalized under law. No animal deserves to be left to die for no other reason than someone found it necessary to commit such a sick and senseless act.

Dear Superintendent Bank,

As you know, a goose was recently found running around with an arrow stuck deep in its chest. It is important that the person who did this be found and legally penalized so that he will be less likely to severely hurt other animals.

While the person may have had a permit to shoot this animal, it was both senseless and heartless to do absolutely nothing to try and help the goose after it had been shot. It would not have been difficult for the person to make an anonymous phone call to authorities in order to let them know there was an animal running around with an arrow in its chest. Instead, this goose was left to withstand unbearable pain until someone was kind enough to report the incident.

For all of these reasons, I encourage you to continue searching for the person who is thought to be behind shooting this innocent animal and to suggest to the proper officials that he be legally punished for this horrific act if he is found guilty. If nothing is done to make sure that justice is served, many more animals may suffer at the hands of a callous individual.
