Target: Los Angeles Salesian High School Principal Fr. Nick Reina

Goal: Suspend football player indefinitely for allegedly smearing Icy Hot in opposing player’s face.

During a high school football game, one of the players was allegedly caught on video smearing Icy Hot in the face of an opposing teammate. The video reportedly shows the teen rub his hand inside the helmet of an opposing team member. It’s believed that the white substance he allegedly wiped in the person’s face was Icy Hot — a cream that causes intense cooling and warm sensations on the skin. The Icy Hot was smeared into his eyes, face, and chest, according to witnesses.

This could’ve caused severe damage to the victim —  Icy Hot is known to possibly cause severe irritation on sensitive areas like the eyes. It’s clear the teammate intended to cause harm and this should be considered assault, and he should be kicked off the team for it.

The family reportedly won’t be pressing charges, but the least they deserve is to be assured their son’s attacker won’t ever be able to play on a team again.

This behavior is nasty, unsportsmanlike, and dangerous. If this young man can’t handle a game, then he doesn’t deserve the privilege of being on the field. Please demand that he be suspended from being a part of a high school sports team indefinitely.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Los Angeles Salesian High School Principal Fr. Nick Reina,

A member of the football team was allegedly caught rubbing Icy Hot into the face and eyes of an opposing team member during a football game. This is assault, yet the teenager didn’t face any charges.

This type of deplorable, unsportsmanlike behavior makes him a disgrace to his football team. We urge you to ensure that his privilege to play on any team at your school is suspended indefinitely.

Sincerely,
