Target: New York City Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Farina
Goal: Revoke teaching license of assistant principal for allegedly having sexual relationship with student, as well as the principal for allegedly allowing it.
An alleged sexual affair between a high school student and assistant principal was exposed through Facebook when a student messaged her gym teacher claiming the assistant principal was engaging in “inappropriate relations” with her. The student claimed the principal knew of the ongoing relationship and did nothing.
Engaging in sex with students — who’re still children — is a form of victimization and abuse and this creates an unsafe school environment. If these allegations are true, then the principal is as guilty as the assistant who engaged in the sexual affair.
The best way to stop the ever-growing number of inappropriate student/teacher relationships is to implement severe consequences. Since the student was of age to consent, charges won’t be pressed, but their licenses should be terminated indefinitely if the allegations are true. Please urge the New York City Department of Education to help see to it that the teaching license of the principal and assistant are suspended indefinitely.
New York City Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Farina,
A former student claims the high school assistant principal engaged in inappropriate sexual relations with her, and the principal knew about it and did nothing. Children should be able to go to school without being victimized by those they should be able to trust, and parents shouldn’t have to worry that the teachers will have sex with their children.
This immoral conduct must not be tolerated. If the claims against the principal and assistant are true, please see to it that their licenses are suspended indefinitely and that they’re never allowed to work in settings that involve underage children again.
