Target: MSPCA Officer Christine Allenberg

Goal: Support the arrest of a couple accused of keeping over 200 animal carcasses in their refrigerators and freezers.

The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) filed a criminal complaint with authorities to charge two people with several counts of animal cruelty after a thorough inspection in August 2015 at their home led to the discovery of about 280 dead animals stored in their freezers and refrigerators and over 120 other animals living in their own filth.

The official state report described the house as filthy and a large number of the animals living inside and outside of the house showed clear signs of neglect and injuries. When the officers entered the home through the front door, the odor of urine, feces, and decay overwhelmed them. There were cages holding cats and ferrets with no signs of food or water anywhere. The staff from Animal Control and the MSPCA worked together and removed about 280 dead animals from the home, including 65 dead animals from two refrigerators and over 200 animals from three freezers in their garage.

According to the court documents, Kathleen McHendry and Ronald Richard, the owners of the home, were each charged with 11 counts of felony animal cruelty and the authorities vacated their house. If they are convicted, they will both face fines and imprisonment. McHendry is adamant about defending her treatment of all of the animals. She still does not think she needs a veterinarian to help her care for her animals.

Please sign this petition to support the charges given to this couple for the animal cruelty found in their home.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Officer Christine Allenberg,

A couple in Springfield, Massachusetts has been charged with animal cruelty after your team uncovered an unimaginable secret they were keeping. The officers were faced with a disgusting odor and a disturbing sight of animal cruelty. Officers found 280 dead animals spread out among refrigerators and freezers along with emaciated animals in and outside of their home.

Thank you and the team at the MSPCA for making this discovery and charging the individuals with animal cruelty. Although Kathleen McHendry still insists that she was capable of taking care of the animals without the help of veterinarians, that clearly wasn’t the case. Hopefully, these two individuals will be convicted for multiple counts of animal cruelty and finally pay for the crimes that they allegedly committed.

Sincerely,

  1. Christina Karnes says:

These people need to be punished for animal cruelty.

  2. Please punish these people . There is no excuse for what they did . People always get away with abusing animals 1 way or another and it’s about time people get charged with the crimes they commit against defenseless animals

  3. OMG……………….SO THIS MONSTER THINKS THAT IT KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF ANIMALS??? YEA RIGHT!!!THEN WHY DID THEY FIND OVER 280 BODIES ON THE PROPERTY BESIDES MANY PARTIALLY ALIVE WITH OUT FOOD OR WATER??? THIS MAKES ME SICK AND MAD AS HELL!! THESE SICKO MONSTERS MUST BE SEVERELY PUNISHED BY BEING JAILED, FINED AS HUGE AMOUNT,MAKE THEM PAY FOR ALL THE VET BILLS FOR EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL STILL BREATHING AT THE LOCATION, BANNED FROM HAVING OR BEING AROUND ANY ANIMALS AND GET PSYCHIATRIC HELP.

  4. This couple are not animal friendly. If they were, they would seek out veterinary treatment for the animals; not to mention seeking help from the Humane Society, etc.

  5. A petition should not be necessary. These two cruel sociopaths need to be incarcerated for a great many years! They, also, need to be heavily fined to pay for the health care of the wretched survivors and NEVER allowed animals in their possession!

  6. Lock them up in a dungeon and throw away the key
