Justice for Dog that was Poisoned and Beaten

Target: Angelo J. Onofri, Acting Prosecutor of Mercer County, New Jersey

Goal: Punish the woman who allegedly poisoned and beat family dog then bragged about it.

A woman is facing counts of animal cruelty and evidence tampering after allegedly attempting to poison her dog and then beating it when it wouldn’t die. Police formed an investigation after 19-year-old Michelle Wankoff was reportedly bragging about how she murdered her family dog in great detail, prompting police to search the nearby woods, where they found its body in a shallow grave.

Wankoff claims to have attempted to poison the nine-year-old mixed breed dog with medications in the house, but when it wouldn’t die she took a shovel and a claw hammer and beat it over the head. After its death Wankoff allegedly left the dog’s corpse in the mini-fridge she kept in her bedroom for a few days before taking the body into the nearby woods with a friend and burying it.

The way this dog died was brutal, and Wankoff’s alleged actions show malicious intent. After planning out and working to dispose of the pet in a painful way, it was kept around like a trophy before being left in a grave. A necropsy is being performed on the dog to determine its exact cause of death against what Wankoff was claiming she did, and the evidence gathered will be used in the trial.

If Wankoff is found guilty she would receive full punishment for both animal cruelty and evidence tampering. This was an extremely aggressive act against an animal that has no means to defend itself and it needs to be punished. Tell Acting Prosecutor Onofri that Wankoff should not get any lenient treatment for this terrible crime.

Dear Acting Prosecutor Onofri of Mercer County,

Using a shovel and a hammer Michelle Wankoff reportedly beat her dog to death then bragged about it, leading to her arrest and the uncovering of the body. This act of extreme animal cruelty should not go by with a slap on the wrist; she should receive a full punishment for horrible act.

This dog was poisoned, beaten and then held onto like a prize before disposed of like little more then trash, and Wankoff displayed no shame or regret for her actions while being proud enough to tell the story to others. If the necropsy reveals what Wankoff says to be true, she needs to be harshly sentenced.

This murdered dog deserves justice for what was so harshly done to it; nothing deserves that kind of treatment and the person responsible should not get away with it. This was an extremely harsh act performed by a disturbed individual and it needs to be treated as such.
