Target: Israel Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein
Goal: Push to convict man with hate crime for allegedly stabbing a 16-year-old to death at a Jerusalem gay pride event.
A 16-year-old Israeli girl was reportedly stabbed at Jerusalem’s gay pride parade. She was one of the six people reportedly attacked at the parade. The man allegedly responsible for these heinous crimes is being referred to by the media as “ultra Orthodox Jewish.” He is also said to have carried out a similar attack on a gay pride event in 2005 and was only released from prison three weeks prior to this event. Reports say he had spoken of his disapproval of the gay pride event beforehand. He reportedly told police that he came to kill in the name of God.
Perhaps if this man would’ve been punished appropriately the first time he committed a hate crime attack, then the young girl would still be alive. This attack was a hate crime and the criminal responsible should be charged with a hate crime as well as murder. Hate crimes must not be tolerated.
Please urge the Israel District Attorney to make sure this man is punished to the maximum extent possible so that he can’t harm anyone else. He’s already proved that he’s a severe threat to society and will kill people, so anything other than a severe punishment will not keep the public safe from him.
Dear Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein,
An ultra Orthodox Jewish man has been accused of attacking six people at a gay pride festival in Jerusalem, which was his second attack on a gay pride event in the last decade. Among the victims was a young 16-year-old girl who ultimately died from being stabbed. These hateful, senseless tragedies must not be allowed to continue.
The heinous stabbings this man carried out are hate crimes and we urge you to make sure he is convicted for hate crimes and to ensure he receives the most severe punishment allowable. He clearly didn’t learn his lesson the first time and will likely continue to kill if he isn’t removed from society.
