Praise Rescuers of Stranded Orca Whale

Target: Hermann Meuter, co-founder of Cetacea Lab

Goal: Praise a rescue team for saving an orca whale that was stranded off of a Canadian shore.

A whale was saved after it was stranded on rocks along the Canadian shore. Representatives from the whale research facility, Cetacea Lab, rushed to the Orca after receiving calls that the animal was stranded by a low ocean tide. After a number of hours, the whale was rescued and is now happily back in the ocean.

A man heard the cries of an orca whale and rushed over to it to see the situation. The Orca was stuck just off the coast of British Columbia. The man called out for help after seeing the distressed whale and a group, called the Guardians from Hartley Bay, along with officials from Cetacea Lab, and rescue group Whale Points came out to assist in the rescue. For over six hours, the team put sheets drenched with water on the whale and poured water over the animal to keep it hydrated until the tide came back in.

According to a social media post by one of the rescue groups, Whale Points, the Orca was stuck in that same position for hours. The rescuers believe that the whale possibly was stranded after chasing a seal into the rocks. The rescuers used a water pump to help keep the whale alive and also mentioned earlier, drenched sheets to keep it hydrated. The people who were part of the rescue said that it was an extremely long process because it took almost an hour just for the whale to figure out how to position itself to get off of the rocks. During those moments, the rescuers had to keep their distance to not frighten the whale any further.

Please sign this petition to thank the team of rescuers for risking their own lives to save this stranded orca whale.
