Target: Alameda County District Attorney
Goal: Imprison cop’s alleged killer for life.
A recent traffic stop in Hayward, California turned deadly after shots were fired. Reports say that Sgt. Scott Lunger pulled over a car in the early hours of the morning for driving erratically. Apparently, as he approached the car he was shot by someone inside. Lunger, a 15-year veteran, died from his wounds.
Sources say another officer returned fire but the car sped off. Police have since found the suspect, 21-year-old Mark Anthony Estrada. Reports say he is currently being treated for gunshot wounds in a hospital, but remains in police custody.
The murder of a police officer just trying to do his job must not be tolerated. Demand that, if found guilty, Estrada be imprisoned for life.
Dear Alameda County District Attorney,
Sgt. Lunger, a 15-year veteran of the Hayward police, was conducting a routine traffic stop recently when he saw a car driving erratically. When he approached the vehicle he was shot and killed. The person who allegedly shot Lunger, Mark Anthony Estrada, sped off from the scene but was later caught.
Lunger was just trying to do his job and protect the community from reckless driving. We must show that we will not tolerate violence toward police officers who are trying to keep communities safe. We the undersigned urge you to put Estrada behind bars for life if he is found guilty.
