Target: U.S. Navy
Goal: Improve security at support centers to prevent further attacks from happening.
A 24-year-old man, Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, shot up a navy recruiting center in a strip mall, then drove 7 miles to a U.S. Navy Operational Support Center and killed four marines. Sources say he was carrying an AK-47 style rifle and several rounds of ammunition.
At this time, it’s unclear what the motive was in the attack. Sources say that Abdulazeez grew up in Chattanooga, but was born in Kuwait. He was thought to be a nice person by those who knew him growing up.
Had security been tighter at this Operational Support Center, perhaps the 4 marines would still be alive. Demand that the U.S. Navy beef up security to prevent further attacks from happening.
Dear U.S. Navy,
A gunman shot up a military recruiting center recently then drove seven miles to a U.S. Navy Operational Support Center. When he got there he easily entered the building and shot and killed four marines with an AK-47 style rifle.
A man carrying a gun should not be able to easily enter a military support center. We the undersigned urge you to increase security at U.S. Navy Operational Support Centers to prevent attacks like this from happening in the future.
