Stop Insane Military Spending

Target: Ashton Carter. U.S Secretary of Defense

Goal: Stop insane military defense spending for the completion of the $400 billion F-35 program.

The $400 billion F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program will finally become operational soon. The program was not only three years late in being completed and more than $200 billion over budget. The F-35 fighter jet took almost 15 years to develop, experiencing numerous hardware and software issues requiring extensive testing to solve.

The fighter jets will be the most expensive weapons system in the history of the world. Critics say the program was a waste of money, and the extremity of the budget overage could certainly back that up.

If that wasn’t enough, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) said that to maintain and operate the JSF program over the course of its lifetime, the Pentagon will invest nearly $1 trillion.

This isn’t the first time in recent years that the government spent a ridiculous amount of money on a program that seemed faulty and overpriced. The same thing seemed to happen with the F-22. This kind of outrageous military spending cannot keep occurring. Tell the government to stop insane military defense spending like the $400 billion F-35 program.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary Carter,

The $400 billion F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program will finally become operational soon, three years late in being completed and more than $200 billion over budget.

I urge you to stop insane military defense spending like the $400 billion F-35 program.

Sincerely,
