SeaWorld Must Stop Mistreating Animals

orca-by-robert-linsdell

Target: John Reilly, president of SeaWorld in San Diego, California

Goal: Stop using reprehensible means like allegedly sending an employee undercover to an animal rights group to forward its agenda of mistreating animals for profit.

The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is accusing SeaWorld of sending one of its employees on secret missions to infiltrate PETA events to try and undermine the group’s work.

PETA has campaigned and been very vocal along with other animal rights groups in recent years about the mistreatment of whales and orcas at the entertainment parks. The group has repeatedly organized petitions and campaigns to get SeaWorld to send its captive orcas and whales to seaside sanctuaries so the animals have more freedom.

PETA stated that SeaWorld has become so bothered with the group’s work that it sent a human relations employee to work with the group disguised as an activist, where the employee completed undercover missions at protests and meetings.

“But, most insidiously, he has repeatedly tried to incite people who object to SeaWorld to act illegally, stating that it’s time to ‘get a little aggressive,'” PETA said.

If this is true, moves like this truly demonstrate SeaWorld’s intentions and that it will do whatever it takes to ensure it can keep mistreating animals all in the name of profit. Tell SeaWorld to stop using reprehensible means like sending an employee undercover in an animal rights group to forward its agenda of mistreating animals for profit.
