Urge Major Cosmetics Company to Promote Vegetarianism

LUSH

Target: CEO of LUSH Handmade Cosmetics Mark Constantine

Goal: Promote animal-friendly vegetarianism through company-wide campaign.

LUSH Handmade Cosmetics is an environmentally conscious cosmetics company which heavily advocates an end to animal testing. This advocacy is prominent, yet only a fraction of what the company promotes in terms of environmental and animal welfare. However, there is one group of heavily downtrodden animals that the company could wildly benefit if it were to become a permanent advocate for them: factory-farmed animals.

The influential company has sponsored numerous causes, including putting an end to shark finning, badger culling and fracking. LUSH sponsored a vegan campaign one year wherein the staff adopted a vegan diet for one day to raise awareness for the lifestyle. However, many individual LUSH stores do not even promote vegetarianism on a daily basis. Numerous shops serve meat during team meetings and other company events. The company is adamantly and publicly against animal testing but leaves out a huge animal demographic in its daily animal rights advocacy when it does not fight against everyday animal abuse in factory farms.

If LUSH were to advocate vegetarianism every day, consumers would notice, inquire and often mimic. The company is vastly popular and its messages are always well received. LUSH is known as an environmentally conscious company and it does amazing things with its platform. Urge the company to advocate a vegetarian lifestyle by starting a permanent campaign, similar to its animal testing campaign, by signing this petition.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Constantine,

LUSH has an incredibly influential platform that is used for so much good. You and your company have changed the lives of people and animals in incredible ways. I thank you for your constant reverence of animals, people and the environment. There is one area, however, that could use the company’s attention and advocacy.

Vegetarianism is compassionate and healthy for people, animals, and the environment. If LUSH were to advocate a vegetarian lifestyle through a continuous campaign, much like its anti-animal testing campaign, people would inquire and be inspired to adopt the change in their own lives. Animals raised for consumption often lead terrible lives full of fear and abuse. These animals are intelligent and complex, with desires and social structures, but they are not allowed a happy existence. They deserve to have an advocate like LUSH; they deserve a life free from harm, just as laboratory test animals do.

Mr. Constantine, please initiate a permanent vegetarian campaign within your company. It would undoubtedly be very well received as well as drastically change the lives of so many people and animals.

Sincerely,

  1. The American Vegetarian Association(AVA)since 1999, certifies many high-quality international cosmetic companies that strictly use plant-based ingredients.
The AVA does not accept any products that utilize animal-testing.
