Target: IKEA CEO, Peter Agnefjall
Goal: Thank IKEA for raising employee wages to meet increased costs of living.
IKEA has once again raised employee wages to match an increase in the cost of living across the nation. The company raised wages in 2014 and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from employees. As the cost of living continues to rise, IKEA is attempting to meet this increase by providing employees with what they consider to be adequate, fair wages. Thank IKEA CEO Peter Agnefjall for maintaining the well-being of employees by raising wages.
The company uses a wage system designed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, aimed at determining the minimum an employee can make to meet the various costs of living. This is an effective method that also demonstrates IKEA’s growing concern and empathy for employees working hard to make ends meet.
Since the last increase in hourly pay, IKEA has experienced a decline in employee turnover. This effectively decreases the costs of hiring and training and more importantly, demonstrates growing contentedness among employees. The growing trust between happy employees and fair employers represents a business model sure to boost success. No doubt, employees will always be happier and willing to work harder for an employer that is providing them with necessary wages and fair benefits.
Please sign this petition to thank IKEA for raising employee wages and protecting the well-being of their valued workers.
Dear Mr. Agnefjall,
IKEA is developing quite the history of continuously raising employee wages to ensure they’re able to make ends meet. In addition to decent benefits, employees will now enjoy an additional increase in wages. This act says a lot about the integrity of IKEA and the goals they continue to meet for both customers and employees.
The use of MIT’s model for determining the wages employees should earn in order to account for rising costs of living is innovative and effective. The use of the term ‘living wages’ has significantly increased in recent years and IKEA has certainly taken this into account. Increasing employee wages is sure to contribute to the decline in employee turnover the company is already experiencing.
Perhaps most important is the way a wage hike can positively effect an employee’s performance. They will feel valued and useful, sure to put forth their best work every day.
Thank you for taking care of IKEA employees by increasing wages and setting a great business model for others to follow.
