Enact Stricter Gun Safety Laws Amidst Accidental Wedding Gunfire

Target: Carl Heastie, Acting Speaker of the New York House

Goal: Increase gun training and gun safety laws in New York to prevent more incidents like accidental gunfire at a wedding at New York’s Waldorf Astoria.

The gun of Vladimir Gotlibovsky accidentally went off at a couple’s wedding at the Waldorf Astoria in New York recently. The wedding couple is now charging Gotlibovsky because their wedding had to be canceled due to the dangerous incident. However, the cancellation of the wedding was not the worst thing to happen, as four people were injured from the accidental gunfire.

Gotlibovsky was allegedly playing around with the weapon in his pocket when it accidentally discharged. The bullet shot through Gotlibovsky’s pant and hit the floor, injuring the four guests with debris from the bullet and the ground. One woman’s head was also grazed by the bullet, which could have resulted in a fatality from this foolish accident.

The fact that a man felt it was okay to mess around with a loaded weapon at a wedding in an upscale hotel leaves many questions about the legitimacy of the training and safety surrounding obtaining a gun. This accident could have resulted in death and other similar accidents still could. Urge legislators to enact stricter gun training and gun safety laws to decrease the chance of dangerous accidents like this happening.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Carl Heastie,

A man’s gun accidentally went off at a wedding recently in New York at the Waldorf Astoria. The wedding had to be canceled due to safety concerns and the bride and groom are now suing the man for this, but this was not the worst thing that could have come from this dangerous incident. Four guests were injured from the foolish accident, including a woman whose head was grazed by the bullet.

This accident could have resulted in death and could have been prevented. Why was a man who obviously didn’t have the proper training or common sense to handle a gun allowed to have this deadly weapon? I urge you to enact stricter gun training and fun safety laws to decrease the chance of dangerous accidents like this from happening again.

Sincerely,
