Target: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo
Goal: Cut health care costs to make cancer screenings more affordable.
New York is proposing a decrease in health care costs to encourage citizens to receive annual cancer screenings. Increasing the amount of screenings doctors perform every year will improve the chances of early detection and successful treatment. There are several components to this proposal that will persuade citizens to receive screenings and ensure health is a priority. Ask New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to sign off on legislation designed to benefit the health and well-being of the working class.
The initiative will not only curb the health care costs associated with cancer screenings, it will even give employees time off to receive said services. This is especially important for families and those experiencing long workdays that provide little free time. The free time most citizens have is more often set aside for rest and recreational activities rather than doctor visits. Under the new cancer screenings initiative, employees will find it easier to make their health a top priority.
Patients are often reminded that early detection can be the key to survival and improves the chances of a long and healthy life. Early detection rates can only improve under the new measure, sure to benefit doctors and patients across the state. Please sign this petition to urge Governor Andrew Cuomo to pass legislation to increase cancer screenings and improve health care costs.
Dear Governor Cuomo,
New York has an excellent opportunity to demonstrate devotion to residents by vowing to make health a top priority. Decreasing the costs and increasing the frequency of resident cancer screenings will go a long way toward saving lives.
Many citizens do not visit the doctor’s office as often as they should due to hectic schedules. Government-sanctioned time off to visit the doctor’s office for cancer screenings provides much needed incentive for busy adults to stay healthy. This is of the utmost importance, especially considering an increased survival rate among patients whose cancer was detected early.
This initiative can only prove beneficial to doctors and patients. Early detection can make cancer far less severe for patients and enable them to lead otherwise healthy, normal lives. I urge you to pass legislation to decrease the costs of cancer screenings and provide employees with ample time to receive lifesaving tests.
