Target: Chinese officials
Goal: Enforce stricter safety measures for river cruise ships to prevent further capsizing and deaths.
A ship has capsized in the Yangtze River in China and rescue crews are working to find survivors. There have been only 15 survivors and 5 bodies found so far. The ship was carrying 458 passengers.
Reports say that the ship’s captain and engineer, both in custody, said that the ship had encountered a tornado-like weather situation. However, it is unclear whether such a situation had occurred.
More than 1,000 armed police officers have been scouring the river looking for survivors or victims.
Urge officials in China to enforce stricter safety measures on river cruise ships to prevent further catastrophes from happening.
Dear Chinese officials,
A cruise ship carrying 458 people along the Yangtze River has allegedly capsized. Sources say that only 15 survivors and 5 bodies have been recovered so far. The captain and engineer have reportedly said that they encountered a tornado-like event, but meteorologists say they’re not sure such an event occurred.
Had stricter safety measures been taken with the ship perhaps it would not have capsized. We the undersigned urge you to enforce stricter safety measures to prevent other ships from capsizing.
