Target: Saudi Arabian government

Goal: Investigate those responsible for killing innocent people with car explosions to show that you will not tolerate sectarian violence.

Four people were killed recently when a car exploded in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Reports say the explosion took place outside of a Shiite mosque as authorities were about to inspect a suspicious vehicle. Saudi Arabia’s monarchy is Sunni but the country has a small minority Shiite population.

Recently, Saudi Arabian officials have been accused of encouraging anti-Shiite sentiment to gain support for their strikes again Shiite rebels in Yemen. However, officials reportedly deny that. The Saudi government says that ISIS is responsible for the car bomb that went off recently, as well a previous one which killed 21. While ISIS has reportedly taken credit for the first one, the group has remained silent on the most recent that killed four people. Sources say that some accuse Sunni residents of committing the crime purely out of hate for Shiites without the backing of ISIS.

Urge the Saudi Arabian government to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the recent explosion to show they it will not tolerate sectarian-fueled crimes.

Dear Saudi Arabian Officials,

A recent explosion near a Shiite mosque killed four people. While ISIS has taken credit for a recent similar attack that killed 21, the group has not taken credit for this recent attack.

Some say that you are encouraging sectarian rivalry between Shiite and Sunni to gain support for your strikes against rebels in Yemen. We the undersigned urge you to investigate and prosecute those who are responsible for this horrific crime to show that you will not tolerate hate crimes in Saudi Arabia.
