Prosecute DJ Accused of Severely Injuring Fan During Show

Target: San Diego District Attorney Bonnie M. Dumanis

Goal: Prosecute DJ Steve Aoki for allegedly breaking a fan’s neck during a show.

DJ Steve Aoki allegedly left a young woman with a broken neck in a near paralyzing incident during one of his trademark antics at a show. The incident occurred at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego when Aoki threw an inflatable raft into the crowd before climbing to higher ground and jumping into the raft, feet first. Despite his fame, Aoki must be held accountable for his irresponsible actions. If found guilty, urge District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis to prosecute Aoki to the fullest extent and ensure he is unable to harm future concert goers.

The victim, Brittany Hickman, was trapped under the inflatable raft and knocked unconscious before being awaken to discover the full extent of her injuries. She was fortunate enough to avoid paralysis, but still experiences unpleasant symptoms to this day, three years later.

Surprisingly, this is the first documented severe injury resulting from Aoki’s shows, but it will surely not be the last. Steve Aoki must change the way he conducts his shows in order to ensure no one is harmed. People attend concerts to enjoy music and have a new, fun experience and should not have to consider the possibility of a life-altering injury at the hands of an entertainer.

Please sign this petition to urge District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis to prosecute Steve Aoki, if found guilty, to the fullest extent of the law for breaking a fan’s neck.

Dear District Attorney Dumanis,

Popular DJ and entertainer Steve Aoki has allegedly broken a female fan’s neck during a show in San Diego at the Hard Rock Hotel. The victim has since experienced a partial recovery, but continues to suffer physical pain from the incident. I urge you to prosecute Aoki to the fullest extent of the law to ensure this incident does not repeat itself.

Aoki needs to discontinue any actions that may prove harmful to anyone attending his shows. Any interaction he has with the audience must be done in the safest manner possible, or not at all.

The victim of this incident will never be quite the same and could have suffered even worse injuries. This kind of irresponsibility and recklessness at concerts is not acceptable and must be punished accordingly.

I hope you will prosecute Steve Aoki and ensure he is not allowed to perform future shows in a similar manner.
