Target: Ms. Loretta E. Lynch, Attorney General of the United States
Goal: Investigate claim that oil company offered landowner a prostitute.
An oil company stands accused of offering the services of a prostitute to a rural landowner for letting a pipeline cut through his land. The man who was allegedly offered the services, more than once according to the allegations, reported this offer to state lawmakers in the hopes that they would respect his rights as a landowner and not seize the land under imminent domain. This type of conduct is despicable and a full investigation into Dakota Access, LLC must be made to ensure that they are not breaking any laws.
It’s not unheard of for oil companies to offer landowners a boon for allowing oil pipelines to run across their land, but this offer is enough to make one sick. Prostitution is not only demeaning to most women, but also entirely illegal in Iowa, where the landowner Hughie Tweedy lives. To make matters worse, Tweedy alleges that the offer was for a teenaged prostitute worth $1,200.
This offer implies several things. Firstly, Dakota Access has absolutely no moral qualms with selling the body of a teenaged girl for their own gain. Secondly, Dakota Access has direct contact with illicit and highly illegal sex trafficking within the United States.
This accusation must be investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice to ensure that Dakota Access is not breaking any laws and to ensure that no young women are being sold for oil profits. Please sign here to demand the Attorney General investigate these allegations and either clear Dakota Access’ name or charge them with the crimes they have committed.
Dear Attorney General Lynch,
A Texas-based oil company, Dakota Access, LLC, stands accused of offering the services of a prostitute to a rural landowner for the rights to run a pipeline across his land. This allegation comes from the landowner himself who claims to have taped the offer. I am writing to demand a full federal investigation into these allegations to ensure that Dakota Access is not selling women’s bodies for their own benefit and enrichment.
If this accusation is true, it implies several things about Dakota Access. First, that they have no moral hangups about selling the body of a teenager for their own person gain. Second, they have direct contact with a despicable and highly illegal sex trafficking ring within the United States. Finally, they have most likely offered this to other landowners before as a boon to get their land.
The landowner, one Hughie Tweedy, has said that he filmed the offer and would be willing to give the recordings to investigators if necessary. This situation demands swift action and, if Dakota Access is found to be guilty, swift retribution.
