Target: Georgia Bureau of Investigation
Goal: Find out what happened to African-American man found hanging from a tree.
A passerby in Greensboro, Georgia found an African-American man hanging from a tree. His knees were slightly bent and his feet were touching the ground. Authorities don’t yet know if there was any foul play involved.
Reports say that the man, Roosevelt Champion, was recently questioned by police during an investigation into the death of a woman named Carol Lewis. However, they’re not sure if his death was related to hers.
Just a couple of months ago, another African-American man was found hanging from a tree in Mississippi. Demand that authorities find out what happened in this case to potentially prevent further similar instances from occurring.
Dear Georgia Bureau of Investigation,
An African-American man named Roosevelt Champion was found hanging from a tree in Greensboro. Considering the South’s history, this should be taken very seriously especially as another African-American man was found hanging from a tree in Mississippi two months ago.
While you have said that it’s not immediately clear whether or not there was any foul play, this should be thoroughly investigated. We the undersigned urge you to find out what happened to Roosevelt Champion and do what you can to prevent similar instances from occurring in the future.
