Justice For Blogger Killed in Bangladesh

balanced scales of justice by perhelion

Target: Sylhet, Bangladesh Metropolitan Police Commissioner Kamrul Ahsan

Goal: Find and prosecute those responsible for killing blogger outside of his home.

Ananta Bijoy Das, a 32-year-old blogger from Sylhet, Bangladesh, was killed on his way to work by four men with hatchets, cleavers, and machetes. Das was a blogger for a website called “Mukta Mona,” or “Free Thinkers.” He was an atheist who criticized Islam and championed science and reason.

He is the third blogger with similar views to be killed on the streets in Bangladesh this year. Two others, both young men, were also brutally murdered with knives, machetes, and other sharp objects.

Demand that police find those responsible and bring them to justice.

Dear Kamrul Ahsan,

Another blogger, Ananta Bijoy Das, was recently killed in Sylhet as he was leaving his home for work. The attackers, four men, killed him with hatchets, cleavers, and machetes.

This is the third free-thinking blogger who has been killed in this fashion this year in Bangladesh. It is suspected that the reason they were killed was because they criticized Islam in their writing. We the undersigned urge you to find the men responsible for killing Ananta Bijoy Das and bring them to justice to show that senseless murders will not be tolerated.
