Target: President & CEO of Keurig Green Mountain, Brian Kelly
Goal: Thank company for releasing a reusable and more environmentally friendly alternative for its non-recycable coffee pods.
Keurig Green Mountain Company has released a reusable coffee filter, an alternative to the company’s wasteful, non-recycable coffee pods. The company, which is famous for its single serving coffee brewing machine, removed this reusable coffee filter, referred to as “My K-Cup,” when it released a new line of Keurig brewing machines. However, after feedback from customers and petitions from environmentally conscious activists, the company decided to reintroduce its reusable coffee filter, having a wonderful benefit for the environment.
Because Keurig and its products have grown tremendously in popularity over the past few years, billions of non-recycable plastic cups are produced every year. Unfortunately, billions of these cups also end up in landfills, polluting the environment. The reintroduction of the reusable “My K-Cup” will offer relief to the environment, as it has the opportunity to reduce the production of these non-recycable and wasteful products.
While Keurig will continue to produce non-recycable plastic coffee pods, it has made statements addressing its efforts to making them completely recyclable in the future. However, we must praise its decision to reintroduce reusable coffee filters for Keurig coffee brewing machines and assure the decision reduces its negative effect on the environment.
Please help to thank Keurig Green Mountain Company for its wonderful efforts to reduce waste by offering a safer, reusable alternative and encourage it to continue making decisions that have a positive impact on the environment.
Dear Mr. Kelly,
Keurig Green Mountain Company has made a great decision by reintroducing “My K-Cup,” a reusable coffee filter for Keurig coffee brewing machines. This new filter will help alleviate the negative effects the current plastic coffee pods have on the environment by reducing waste and pollution.
Currently, billions of non-recycable plastic coffee pods are sent to landfills every year. While this is an astonishing number, the reusable alternative is a great way to help combat this issue.
I would like to praise your company’s efforts to reduce the negative impact that non-recyclable plastic k-cups have had on the environment. With your statement pledging to make all plastic coffee pods completely recyclable in the future along with the reintroduction of a reusable k-cup, I believe Keurig Green Mountain Company can drastically decrease the production of plastic k-cups, and in consequence, decrease the negative effect it has on the environment.
