Target: FDA

Demand: Require cosmetic companies share safety information about products.

Nail salons are filled with chemicals from the products that are used on a daily basis. Nail polish, polish remover, and various other items used during a typical manicure are all filled with chemicals that not only smell bad, but create health problems, according to studies.

Reports claim that more and more manicurists and cosmetologists are getting cancer and experiencing other health problems, specifically when it comes to reproduction. Sources say that chemicals in nail products are known to cause fetal health problems and miscarriage.

While the companies who make these products are required to ensure that the products are safe for the user, they are not required to share safety information with the FDA, leading to fewer regulations.

This must change or those who are exposed to these chemicals will get sicker and sicker. Demand that the government require nail product companies to share safety information with the FDA.

Dear Food and Drug Administration,

Recent reports indicate that chemicals found in nail products are known to cause cancer, as well as reproductive issues including miscarriage. While the companies that produce these products are required to ensure that they are safe to use, they are not required to report safety information to the government.

We the undersigned urge you to require these companies to report to the FDA so their products can be regulated and further sickness can be prevented.
