Punish Man Accused of Selling Baby Orangutan

Target: The State Prosecutor of North Sumatra, Indonesia

Goal: Convict man for allegedly attempting to illegally sell a baby orangutan.

The North Sumatra State Prosecutor and the Wildlife Conservation Society announced that they have arrested a man who was allegedly attempting to illegally sell a baby orangutan. The orangutan is between 6 and 12 months old, and is allegedly worth $1,300 on the local market. The man has also been reported selling hornbill beaks, tiger skins, and tiger fangs.

The man, identified only as “VHN,” is a part of a greater black market that includes local hunters and collectors networking throughout Indonesia. The man has been found to be a top trader in the market with a great amount of connectivity, and is known for selling a variety of animals. He completed most of his business through Facebook and BlackBerry Messenger.

The Indonesian rainforests have become an unsafe place for many wildlife animals. They are the site of illicit trafficking and deforestation, which puts many wildlife animals in danger. This arrest demonstrates the efforts the Indonesian government and the Wildlife Conservation Society are putting into protecting wildlife, and to eliminate illicit trafficking.

If convicted, the man will face up to five years in prison, with a fine of $7,600. Please support the efforts being made to convict this man, and ultimately put a stop to illicit wildlife trafficking.

Dear State Prosecutor,

The necessary protection of wildlife is at an all-time high, and there is not a better time to act than now. A man, identified as “VHN,” is allegedly a top wildlife trader and deserves to be punished for attempting to sell a baby orangutan. Not only does the baby orangutan deserve justice, but all the animals he has successfully sold do as well.

You have my support in convicting this man, and I urge you to prosecute him to the best of your abilities. Stopping this man will help save countless other animals.
